ChocoMemorabilia is a civic collaboration project proposed by the Chocolate City, dedicated to rediscovering and enhancing precious testimonies related to the bond between the people of Perugia and the world of chocolate.

Through the collection of objects, memorabilia, and memories, the Chocolate City aims to actively involve the community, offering an intriguing glimpse into the city and its chocolate history, which has intertwined for over a century.

During the collection campaign, the citizens of Perugia are warmly invited to share their “memories in drawers”. The result will be a fascinating archive of images and artifacts, a collective treasure that bridges the public and private spheres, accessible to all within the spaces of the Chocolate City.

  • Photos and videos, both digital and original;
  • Audio documents collected in digital format;
  • Paper documents of notable interest, such as posters, memories, advertising materials, and more;
  • Objects of documentary relevance;
  • Any item, at the lender’s discretion, that may constitute a significant testimony of a period in the city’s history.
The original material provided will be temporarily stored, digitized, and selected based on relevant criteria for the project’s purposes. Upon delivery, it’s essential that the material includes necessary supporting information such as date, location, any depicted subjects, and the type of event. The original material should be free of frames or other impediments and be in good condition. After a period of 60 days from delivery, it will be possible to request the return of the material from the same collection point.
For testimonies deemed particularly interesting, it will be possible, with the consent of the owners, to permanently exhibit them to the public within the Chocolate City. The lender must qualify as the rightful owner of any rights or constraints associated with the provided material, granting free and unrestricted use of the material to ChocoMemorabilia, and indemnifying the project from any present or future liabilities related to the provided material. For the aforementioned purposes, inclusion of the lender’s and other names will be requested in the captions, indicating their ownership and/or as subjects depicted in the images.
